This year was the turn of breed specialist Mrs.Pat Kindersley of Knightstone fame, with a whopping entry of 220, the largest in the Utility group.First of all we had Oliver to show in the open dog class, which had 20 entries and he showed really well to take 2nd place in a very strong class which included some very nice foreign dogs.

The next task of the day was the open bitch class with Magic, now, having won best of breed for the last 3 years i surely thought she wouldn't be able to repeat her previous successes. However ,probably the strongest class she has ever taken part in, packed full of quality from the UK and abroad, she pulled out all the stops and showed like her life depended on it(which of course it didn't! ), she made an impression upon the judge and was duly awarded first place. So once again we were in for the challenge of bitch certificate.I was running on autopilot, but of course Magic had everything under control, and did behave perfectly, and to my delight won the bitch cc.

Now for the challenge for best of breed against a young dog who had won his first cc earlier that morning, and a huge well done to his owners whose first cc it was. In the end Magic triumphed to take the top stop,so next we had a breather for about an hour before the group was to be judged by Mr.Ernie Paterson of Camargue dalmatians, who is now also a top all rounder and a judge for the whole of the utility group.

That group was the most quality laden one we have ever been in,but i was totally calm and knew i had a job to do,and decided i was going to fight hard for a placing.Everything went well when she was being judged, she never put a foot wrong, and as always she is better in a big ring, she just tore up the astro turf as she powered round.Victory was claimed by the awesome standard poodle, and top dog for 2008, Ch/Am Ch Afterglow The Big Tease, but low and behold Magic stormed into second place in the group, in front of a gorgeous Lhasa Apso and the amazing Tibetan Terrier.

Thank You is 2 very insignificant words i always think, they could never give the measure of my appreciation to the breed judge and the group judge, they both made our day the most unforgettable experience that i have ever had, and of course, my total love and devotion goes to my very special little girl, who is currently being worshipped more than usual!!!!

MAGIC, you are a STAR! X

(Below is the clipping from Dog World newspaper)

In the runner up spot, Mark Dunnachie's Dalmatian Ch Dvojica Vooddoo, cast her spell again, taking her 4th consecutive Crufts BOB just 14 weeks after whelping a litter of six.Like other celebrity "yummy mummies", she has regained her figure with remarkable speed. Her owner tells me the secret is her exercise regime. Her CC count stands at 39 and she has 4 all breed BIS wins. No wonder she's called Magic at home.
Crufts Critique
Open Bitch(20/3) 1st Dunnachie's Ch Dvojica Voodoo JW. Excellent example of type, beautifully marked black pigmentation on superb coat, excels in all aspects, looking marvellous after a recent litter, strong driving action and never stopped showing, handled to perfection for the CC,BOB & Group 2.

Mrs.Pat Kindersley-Breed Judge

Group Critique

G2 was the dalmatian, Ch Dvojica Voodoo JW, black spotted bitch just back after a litter so coat was a little thin, that said she too is a group dog who can't do enough for her handler who really gets the best out of her.Deep pigment, lovely expression and enough bone. Clean neck and shoulders, body just about right, bold clear spotting. Another who can move, stormed round the ring with reach and drive maintaining a firm topline at all times. Close up to the winner.

Mr.Ernie Paterson- Group Judge

There is just something so magical about this show,i can't quite describe it properly.I mean, the car parking situation is just awful,we have to walk for miles to get to the hall,it's so expensive, and so sprawling, and so busy. The toilet facilities for the dogs are totally inadequate and to top it all,no one can leave till at least 4pm,so it makes for a long and tiring day.BUT it's Cruft's, and anyone who is serious about showing dogs does not want to miss it. The atmosphere around the ringside is one of tangible excitement,i'm sure many of you know exactly what i'm trying to say,and of course it's the one sure fire time that we will have a huge ring, which our dogs need in order to show off their movement to it's best advantage. Also the huge numerical entry that the show attracts means that you bump into people that maybe haven't been round the show rings so much, and it is always a great place to catch up with friends, old and new,and find out how everyone has been.
Of course,it's always great to take part, but for me,personally,Crufts has just been spectacular over the last 3 years, with Magic winning best of breed now for the 3rd time in a row.I've only been showing for 9 years,so to reach this level ,relatively early, can sometimes feel like a dream.Dreams and hope are what keep us going, and what make us human, and i hope that some of my experiences can give hope to other up and coming handlers, whatever age, that anyone,ANYONE, can do it. If i can, so can you.

She is "loyalty personified"

Ch.Dvojica Voodoo
"Magic"
3x Best of Breed
At
Crufts Dog Show

Both Malcolm and Brenda have been in Dalmatians for a number of years. They themselves have also been in the spot light here at Crufts with their Pointer where they also faced the challenge of group and Best in Show ring.

Crufts once again showed its pressure, a long but worthwhile day for dogs and exhibitors.

Dalmatians once again had the highest entry within the Utility Group. Proving again for an exceptionally long day for Ch. Dvojica Voodoo. JW, (Magic). As her class was the 2nd last of the day.

Magic prevailed. She swept around collecting her class of open bitch and then on to challenge the awesome dog, International Champion DK/N/FIN/S Bell-a-Mir’s Elegant Envoy.

With this success under her hat she moved on to the challenge of the Group under Judge Mr. Albert Wight. Where he moved her into her first group short listing at Crufts.

To win Best of Breed at Crufts was my once in a lifetime dream, but for Magic to do it 2years in a row was just out of this world. Malcolm, i was speechless, THANKYOU.

Judge: Mr Malcolm Smith

Crufts 2006, this is the second championship show of the year. Here I felt very unsure of which direction the judging would go. It is after all such a lottery with the large number of entries and the increasing number of international exhibitors.

Mrs. F.C.T. Hartley (Miragua Dalmatians) was the judge for the breed on this occasion. The breed itself had the second largest entry in the Utility Group (216), and Magic's class Open Bitch, had the largest entry for the Dalmatians with 29.

None the less Magic took flight, sweeping her way through the ring. Firstly moving through open bitch, the Bitch challenge, and then Best of Breed. I have to say at this point that we were made to work hard and rightly so for this prestigious ticket. But the title of Best of Breed, Crufts, 2006 went to our very own Ch. Dvojica Voodoo. JW.

We then moved to the Best in Show Ring, to be judged for the Utility Group by Mr. M. Freeman, however on this occasion we didn't succeed in this spectacular ring. Hopefully we might have some more luck next year.
I cannot tell you how i felt on this day, it was undescribable. The feeling of pride and sheer joy is a memory that will live with me forever.there are not words to convey to Fiona the tremendous feeling of being so very honoured.
