Those who made it all possible

Looking at the pedigree's of my 2 show dogs,one can't help but see the influence of certain lines.The main one that springs to the fore is Pat Stanton's Salsusa line. She based her line very firmly on Jean Rance's Olbero line,and she in turn had a lot of influence in her dogs from Betty Clay's Tantivvey dalmatians.

Also there is a fair sprinkling of Joan Atkinson's Theakston line in there,and she,like Pat Stanton,founded her line very strongly on the influence of Jean Rance's Olbero dogs.In combination with these 2 ladies working together,they produced some stunning dogs,and many of them feature heavily in the pedigree's of Magic and Oliver.I have tried to utilise their expertise to try and carry on the work that they have created.I would like it to be noted here that without them,i would have nothing and i am very heavily indebted to them,the breeders who have gone before me,so a huge thank you to Pat Stanton,Joan Atkinson,and although i never even met them,to Jean Rance and Betty Clay,who have been iconic figures to me. I have learned so much from these people and they have all helped me in their own way.

Paddy

Paddy

This is Ch Doctor Fox by Salsusa.He is the sire of my 2 champions,Magic and Oliver and was top stud dog in 2007 & 2008.He has 4cc's, 3 of which were gained at Cruft's ,all with Best Of Breed.He was 12 at the beginning of March 2008,but unfortunately he was given peace in September 2008 after a disc in his neck had prolapsed,causing him endless pain.We salute you Paddy,our favourite dog of all time.I think perhaps his best attribute that he passes on is his wonderful temperament,he was so gentle,and also he seems to pass on his effortless ground covering movement,not to mention his obvious good looks!(Can you tell i just adored him?)

Rosa

This is paddy's mother,Salsusa Sweet Briar. She was never shown and is still alive at almost 17 yrs old.she only had one litter in which her champion son came from.

Thomas

This is Paddy's sire,Salsusa Astar Playa,he died in october 2007,aged 13yrs.He was shown lightly but still managed to produce 2 champion sons and 1 champion daughter as well as some other cc winning children.He really was a lovely boy,with the sweetest of nature's.

Tiffany

This is Ch.Olympic Star of Olbero, this picture was taken the day she won Best of Breed at Cruft's in 1992,she was 4 weeks pregnant at the time and was carrying her famous son Ch.Salsusa Black Jack,who in turn produced 7 champion offspring,and also her famous daughter, Int Ch Salsusa Eternal Star,who produced 2 Int.Champion offspring.She was the jewel in Pat's crown,and was a real top producer,being the mother of 1 Uk and 3 International champions.

Tiffany

And here she is in colour,as you can see she is a fabulous rich liver,she was very young in this picture,she was not quite 2yrs old.She had the most wonderful easy going temperament and she is still missed by the Stanton family to this day.

Jake

And this is Tiffany's famous son, Ch, Salsusa Black Jack,who won 5 cc's and 26 reserve cc's,and was top stud  in 96,97,98 and 03.He was also the first male to win the prestigious Dalmatian Of The Year title,in the year 2000.He produced 7 UK champions and 2 International Champions, including the dog cc record holder,Ch Tommy Brock who in turn produced the previous CC record holder, Ch Buffrey Arrabelle at Daedalus.He is Magic and Oliver's great grandfather.He died when he was 13 yrs old and was known to all of us who loved and adored him,as Jake.He was all male and just screamed DALMATIAN,or as anyone who knew him would say he barked it,for he was a very vocal boy in the ring,bless him! I have to say we were all heartbroken when he left us for Rainbow Bridge,but he gave us all so much pleasure when he was here and we have him firmly in our present day dogs.He was owned by Donna and Kevin Whincup who have become firm friends.

Lucas

This is Ch Theakston Tamerlan, he was a very influential sire,and was mated to Ch Olympic Star for 3 of her 4 litters.He produced 1 uk champion,Salsusa Black Jack ,2 Scandinavian champions,4 international champions,1 New Zealand champion as well as 2 Irish champions .He lived till almost 12 yrs of age.He has also won Best of Breed at Crufts,in 1993.

Lucy

This is Ch.Olbero Onsdag Moln of Theakston she died a few days before her 14th birthday and was Joan's first champion.She is the mother of Ch Theakston Tamerlan,and was the sweetest girl anyone could ever meet.She was mated to Joan's champion dog to produce Tamerlan.

Ben

And this is Ben,Ch Beaumore Night Owl of Olbero,who was the sire of 5 UK champions,2 Scandinavian champions who were also International champions and 1 New Zealand champion,by Artificial Insemination,many years after his death.Another dog whose temperament was impeccable,he lived to the age of 13 yrs,a truly stunning dog who proved his worth time after time after time,not only in the ring,but as one of the top producers of all time.

It makes me very proud to look at these dogs and know where my own have come from,and many thanks to Pat,Sally and Joan for indulging me with these wonderful pictures of dogs that have long since left us .
