Blackpool Championship Show

On the 26th of June i had a short drive(3 hours) to Blackpool Show,it is a fantastic showground, the rings are immaculate,and very flat. So well laid out and must be one of the best run shows we have in the UK. The judge was a new one to me, Mrs W De Vries Hoogland, from Holland. No one knew what to expect,what kind of dogs she would like ,was she a movement buff,or did she prefer type????

Well it turned out she was very impressed with Magic,who gained her 42nd CC with Best of Breed. We then went to the Champion Stakes to be judged by Frank Kane where she got a 2nd place, unfortunately this meant she was a beaten dog and was unable to compete in the group competition, but we had a brilliant day,we haven't shown at Blackpool for 4 years,so it was wonderful to go back and repeat the success she had in the breed ring the last time we visited there.

Well the time has finally arrived where Magic and Oliver's children are about to make there debut into the show ring,at the age of six months,so on the 17th of June we headed to Three Counties to be judged in the breed by Mr.Rob Sansom. He had given Magic her vital 3rd cc 4 years previously,thus making her up!

Off i went to get Frida and my tummy definately had butterflies,anyhow,there were 6 minor puppy bitches in the class,so i was just hoping for a place,i went last and was keeping a low profile, but the judge seemed to like her and she headed the class in 1st place. Our work was done for the day,i was happy,so continued to enjoy the day until the challenge,it was quite strange being back down the opposite end of the line, the cc went to a limit bitch, but i couldn't help but notice in the run round that the judge couldn't take his eyes off Frida.

Well what happened next totally floored me!! He walked over with the reserve cc in his hand and gave it to ME !!!! He just loved her and told me she was very nice........this gives her a stud book number with the Kennel Club and automatically qualifies her for Crufts for life. She then proceeded to become Best Puppy in Breed,which qualified her for Dalmatian of the Year!!!

Next we went to the group ring,as there is a competition at this show for a Best Puppy in Show,this was judged by the famous Mr.Andrew Brace,who gave Magic her first CC and Group.Well we ended the day with Group 2,i was delighted,and i couldn't have hoped for a better start to her show career.

THEN
Four days later at Border Union Agriculural Society's annual champ show, she was a clever girl again,taking Best Puppy in breed for the second time in under a week.

On the 7th of June ,Ruby attended her first championship show in Croatia with new owner Zeljka Drazic Halper. Being just a few days over 6 months old,she did not expect to win an awful lot, so was more than happy to be best puppy in breed, however she then topped the puppy group, what a fantastic start to her show career, but then would you beleive,she had to finish the day off ,in style, by ending up as BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!!! All this on her first outing.....

Top Breeder 2007

For the first time we have become top Dalmatian breeder in the U.K.
